About Wasp
Wasp — Workflow Abstraction for Simplified Payments — is Stratsol's API-first payments platform: its payment gateway. It provides the payment acceptance layer that merchant and aggregator systems call to take a payment.
Payments made simple. We handle payment complexity, so you don't have to. Payments are genuinely complex — scheme rules, gateways, compliance, reconciliation — and Wasp owns that complexity so you integrate against a simpler, stable surface. "Simple" describes the experience Wasp creates for merchants and developers; it does not describe the merchant, the developer, or the underlying payment problem.
What you integrate against is payment initiation and the transaction lifecycle: taking a payment, refunding it, pre-authorising, voiding, verifying an account, and reading back the result. Setting up merchants and aggregators, issuing credentials, reporting and administration are operated by Stratsol rather than through an API you build against. The Wasp home page sets out what Wasp gives you.
Wasp sits below the merchant's ecommerce, cart, and order-management system; it does not replace the store. It starts when the customer is ready to pay — see Where Wasp Checkout fits.
Wasp Checkout
Wasp Checkout is the web checkout layer of the platform. It collects a normalised payment instrument in the browser and hands it to the merchant backend, which submits it through the Wasp Payment API. See the Wasp Checkout overview and the Checkout quickstart.
